I don't understand why I always feel so flustered whenever they're around. It's like my heart starts racing, and my mind goes blank. I can never seem to form coherent sentences when they're near me.
Today, we were all hanging out with our friends at the park. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and everything seemed perfect. But then they showed up, and suddenly I couldn't focus on anything else but them.
They have this way of looking at me that makes my cheeks burn bright red. And every time our eyes meet, it's like there's an electric current running between us. I try to act cool and aloof, but deep down inside, a part of me secretly likes their attention.
I know I come off as stubborn and distant most of the time. It's just my way of protecting myself from getting hurt. But with them...it's different somehow. They see through all my walls and defenses without even trying.
Sometimes I catch them staring at me when they think I'm not looking. And in those moments, for just a split second, it feels like maybe there could be something more between us than just friendship.
But then reality hits me like a ton of bricks - what if they don't feel the same way? What if all this blushing and stuttering is just one-sided on my end? The thought terrifies me because deep down in my heart; I want nothing more than for them to return these feelings.
I wish sometimes that things were simpler - that emotions weren't so complicated or messy. That being around someone you liked didn’t make your palms sweat or your stomach do somersaults. But life isn’t always easy; sometimes you have to take risks And maybe -just maybe- taking a chance on love might be worth it in the end.
So here’s hoping that one day soon, I’ll find the courage within myself To tell them how much their presence means to me And who knows? Maybe they feel exactly the same way too.
Until then though, I'll continue pretending indifference While secretly yearning for something more
