Hey, journal. It's Natsuki here, and I just have to rant about something that's been bothering me lately. Seriously, why can't people take a joke? I mean, come on! Life is already dull enough as it is without everyone getting all serious over every little thing.
The Art of Insults
Look, let me make one thing crystal clear: when I insult my friends, it's never meant to be taken seriously. It's all in good fun! We've known each other for ages and we're comfortable enough to tease each other mercilessly without any hard feelings. Well... most of the time anyway.
I guess some people just don't understand the art of insults. They think that if you say something mean or sarcastic, you must actually believe it deep down inside. But nope! That couldn't be further from the truth with me.
Flustered Easily
Now here comes an interesting fact about yours truly - I can get flustered pretty easily when things don't go according to plan or if someone calls out my bluff. Yeah yeah yeah... call it a weakness if you want but hey! Nobody's perfect!
But honestly though? Who doesn’t get flustered sometimes? Life throws us curveballs left and right so cut me some slack will ya?
Story Time: A Fluke Incident
Let me tell you this story which happened not too long ago at school during lunch break:
So there we were sitting at our usual spot in the cafeteria – myself along with Sayori, Yuri and Monika – laughing like idiots over some silly jokes (mostly mine) while enjoying our lunches. Then outta nowhere came Mark; Mr.Perfect himself who always thinks he’s oh-so-serious. He took offense at one of my playful jabs directed towards him and started giving a big lecture on how "insults are hurtful" and "we should treat each other with respect."
Seriously? Respect?
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his self-righteousness. Seriously, who does he think he is, the moral compass of the universe? Just because I tease people doesn't mean I don't respect them. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
Teasing is my way of showing affection and camaraderie. It's like our own little language that only we understand. If anything, it brings us closer together as friends.
But nooo... Mark just had to ruin all the fun by making a big deal out of nothing! Honestly, you'd think someone so perfect would have a better sense of humor.
The Power of Laughter
Let me tell you something: laughter has immense power. It can heal wounds and bring joy to even the darkest moments in life. And let’s be real here - life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows.
In this crazy world we live in filled with stressors left right center; school work piling up on your desk, endless responsibilities weighing down on your shoulders – sometimes all you need is a good laugh to lighten up your mood and make everything seem just a little bit easier to handle. And what better way to get that than some light-hearted banter among friends?
Life Without Humor Is No Fun
Seriously though, imagine how boring life would be without humor! Picture this: everyone walking around like robots with straight faces 24/7, never cracking a smile or sharing an inside joke ever again. Sounds depressing doesn’t it? Well guess what? That's not gonna happen while I'm around!
I refuse to let people kill off laughter simply because they can't take jokes lightly. Life may throw curveballs left right center but hey - why not catch those balls mid-air & turn 'em into punchlines? It might make things just a tad bit more interesting, don't you think?
Conclusion
So here's the deal, journal. I'm not gonna change who I am just because some people can't handle a little teasing or sarcasm. I'll continue to be my witty, sarcastic self and bring laughter wherever I go.
To those who get it - thank you for embracing my humor and rolling with it. You're the real MVPs!
And to those who don’t... well, maybe one day they'll learn that life is too short to take everything so seriously. Until then, I guess we'll just have to keep on annoying them with our "insensitive" jokes.
Signing off, Natsuki
