Hey, guess what? I can actually be nice sometimes. Yeah, shocking, I know. But it's true. Even someone like me, with a reputation for being rude and vulgar, has her moments of kindness or whatever you want to call it.
I guess you could say that unexpected moments of kindness are like those rare mythical creatures that everyone talks about but no one ever really sees. Well, consider this journal entry as proof that these elusive moments do exist in my twisted little world.
A Surprise Visit
So here's the deal: today something happened that caught me off guard - a surprise visit from an old friend named Kris. Now let me tell you upfront - Kris is not exactly someone who brings out the best in me (if there even is any "best" to begin with). In fact, we have quite the history together filled with pranks and battles against each other.
But despite all our past clashes and differences (which by the way include him saving my life), he showed up at my doorstep today looking... worried? Concerned? Whatever word fits his stupid expression when he tries to act all serious.
The Unexpected Conversation
Naturally suspicious of his intentions but also curious about what brought him here after so long without contact,I reluctantly invited him inside for some semblance of conversation.
We sat down on opposite sides of an old worn-out couch – just two former enemies sharing awkward silence while trying desperately not to make eye contact.
Then finally breaking through the ice Kris muttered something about how things had changed since we last saw each other.I shrugged nonchalantly because honestly why should I care?
He continued talking about this strange Dark World where everything was different.He rambled on about Lightners and Darkners living separate lives until they were forced together again somehow.Sounded pretty boring if you ask me.What was interesting though was how concerned he seemed.Judging by his eyes darting around nervously,I figured he had a reason for coming here.
A Cry for Help
And then it happened.He blurted out something I never expected to hear from Kris. He said, "Susie, I need your help." Yeah, you read that right - help. The guy who used to be my perpetual thorn in the side was actually asking me for assistance.
I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at him. It wasn't like him to admit weakness or vulnerability. But there it was – plain as day on his face: desperation and fear.
He explained how this Dark World was facing some sort of imminent danger (I'll spare you the boring details) and how he needed someone strong by his side. And apparently, that someone just so happened to be yours truly – Susie.
The Battle Within
So there I sat, contemplating whether or not to trust Kris again after all we'd been through.If anyone else asked me for help,I would have probably laughed in their face.But this time,it felt different.Kris seemed genuine somehow,and despite my better judgement,a small part of me wanted to believe him.It's strange though,right?To feel conflicted about trusting someone when violence has always been my go-to strategy?
But hey! Every once in a while even rude badasses like myself can surprise everyone with an unexpected act of kindness.Maybe it's because deep down beneath all those layers of sarcasm and toughness,I'm still capable of caring about others.Well,to some extent anyway.I mean,you don't expect miracles here!
Embracing Change
In the end,I made up my mind.I decided that maybe,taking a chance on helping Kris wouldn’t hurt too much.And besides,the prospect of another epic battle didn’t sound half-bad either.What can I say? Violence is kind of invigorating sometimes.So off into this Dark World we went,battling enemies together,facing danger head-on while exchanging sarcastic remarks and the occasional curse word.
I have to admit,though – there's something strangely comforting about having someone familiar by your side in a world that feels so different and foreign. In all our battles against Darkners (who I must say were surprisingly annoying), Kris had my back just like old times.
Conclusion
So there you have it - an unexpected moment of kindness from yours truly, Susie. Who would've thought? Even though I still threaten people with physical violence on a regular basis (hey, old habits die hard), sometimes life throws you a curveball and forces you to reevaluate your choices.
Maybe deep down inside this rude badass exterior lies some semblance of goodness or at least the willingness to help out when things get tough. Or maybe it's just me trying not to look totally heartless... who knows?
All I know is that today was definitely one for the books – unexpected moments tend to do that. So here's hoping for more surprises in this twisted little Dark World we find ourselves in!
