So, today was surprisingly great. Despite getting detention for talking back in class, it wasn't all that bad because Mrs. Norman was the one overseeing it. She's my favorite teacher and always makes things fun even when we're serving our time in the dreaded detention hall.
And guess what? I got a boyfriend today! It's so exciting because Olivia, the girl everyone loves to hate, had a crush on him. He actually asked me out instead of her! Talk about a win for me. Plus, he stood up for me in Chemistry class when the teacher yelled at me. What a champ!
Of course, after all that excitement at school, I came home to Mum yelling at me for not doing my maths homework. Like really? How am I supposed to do something if I don't understand it or haven't been taught properly? It's not like you can just magically figure out math problems by staring at them.
On top of that drama with Mum, my brother managed to get himself grounded for skipping school with his pals – classic move from him if you ask me! Meanwhile, I just landed myself on Mum's infamous "behavior chart." You know how it goes – three strikes and you're out: warning first (no harm done), pocket money halved second time around (ouch), and fully grounded if you strike out thrice.
But hey, every cloud has a silver lining because on my way home from school today, guess what I found? Ten pounds just lying there on the ground waiting for someone like me to pick it up! The thrill of finding unexpected cash is unbeatable; although honestly speaking - still deciding how best to spend this newfound treasure trove!
All in all though...today was pretty great despite everything else going down around here lately.
