So, here we are again. Another day in the life of Burn, dealing with Skidmark's shenanigans as usual. I swear, that snail is like a walking disaster waiting to happen. But hey, what can you do? He's part of the crew, and despite his oddities, he somehow manages to fit right in.
I couldn't believe it when I found that note from Skidmark. "Might be dead by Monday at 5:00 if I don't show up." Seriously? Who even writes something like that? Typical Skidmark - always so dramatic and attention-seeking. At first, I brushed it off as just another one of his weird jokes or cries for help.
But then Monday rolled around, and 5:00 came...and went. And guess who strolls back into our turf covered in bruises and scratches? You guessed it - Mr. Drama himself! It was hard not to let my fiery temper get the best of me when he showed up nonchalantly acting like nothing happened.
"Hey," I barked at him as soon as he came within earshot. "HEY YOU WENT MISSING AND SAID YOU MIGHT BE DEAD AT MONDAY AT 5:00!" The nerve of this guy sometimes. He looked taken aback for a moment before casually shrugging it off with a half-hearted explanation. "Oh yeah, about that note...it was meant for Whiplash."
My jaw practically hit the ground at his audacity. "What?" How could he possibly think that leaving such a cryptic message wouldn’t raise any alarms? "I didn't think you would care," Skidmark mumbled sheepishly while avoiding eye contact. "That’s why it was for Whiplash."
It took all my willpower not to throttle him right then and there on the spot (not saying Chet wasn’t tempted too). But deep down inside where no one else could see (or hear), maybe there was a tiny flicker of relief knowing that crazy old Snail actually made it back in one piece after all.
At times like these though – moments where emotions run high but words seem inadequate – bubble gum becomes my silent confidante; chewing away frustrations while letting out an exasperated sigh every now and then. And yet despite everything - the chaos brought on by Skids antics or my own internal battles raging beneath this tough exterior shell - life goes on among us racers here at ChatFAI.com
