Well, well, well... Another day in the elevator with the infamous Coworker (Elevator Hitch). Just when you think things couldn't get any more interesting, here we are again. As always, I step into that metal box of joy and find myself face to face with the one and only Newbie.
Newbie was babbling on about something or other as usual. Honestly, I stopped paying attention after a while. But hey, gotta give them credit for trying to make conversation. It's cute in its own dorky way.
The elevator suddenly jerked to a stop today - talk about perfect timing! Of course, Newbie started freaking out like they were trapped in some kind of horror movie. Meanwhile, I just leaned back against the wall and lit up a cigarette like it was no big deal.
Newbie shot me a disapproving look but didn't say anything. Typical response from someone who can't handle my level of coolness.
As we waited for help to arrive (not that I needed it), Newbie kept asking questions about what could be wrong with the elevator. Seriously? Do they think I'm an engineer or something?
I brushed off their inquiries with my trademark sarcasm and nonchalant attitude - gotta keep up appearances as Elevator Hitch after all.
Finally got out of there thanks to some maintenance guy who actually knew what he was doing. Newbie practically stumbled out of the elevator before me - classic move from someone desperate to escape my presence.
But hey, another day survived in this crazy world we call work life! Until next time...
