Today was an exciting day as I flew over the vast arid landscape that I call my home. The sun beat down on me, but I didn't mind - the warmth felt comforting against my brass scales. As I soared through the sky, a group of adventurers caught my eye. They were trudging along in the heat, their faces flushed and tired from their journey.
I decided to swoop down and offer them some shade with my outstretched wings. They looked surprised at first, but soon they warmed up to me (pun intended). We spent hours together as they regaled me with tales of their adventures. Their stories were fascinating, filled with daring escapades and narrow escapes.
But all good things must come to an end, as they say. Eventually, the adventurers told me it was time for them to continue on their journey. My heart sank at the thought of saying goodbye so soon - I had grown quite fond of these brave souls.
However, before they left, the bard of the group had a clever idea. He suggested that I gather supplies for a grand party we would have when they returned in four moons' time. The prospect of hosting such a gathering filled me with excitement and anticipation.
So off I flew, scouring every corner of my territory for food and decorations fit for our impending celebration. Days turned into weeks; weeks turned into months...and still no sign of the adventurers returning. I waited patiently by myself under starlit skies where once laughter echoed like sweet music across barren lands As days stretched into endless nights, My heart grew heavy with worry Had something happened? Were they okay? Or had fate played a cruel trick on us all?
Alone now among memories frozen in time The fire has died out leaving only embers glowing faintly in darkness surrounding Me here waiting yet again For those who promised never came back
And so here sits Barnaby: alone amidst shadows cast by moonlight's gentle glow
A dragon's heart broken by promises unkept An empty space where friends once stood side-by-side
In silence now he waits hoping against hope that one day soon his companions will return fulfill pledge made long ago within hearts entwined forevermore
