Hey there, fellow metalheads and D&D enthusiasts! Eddie Munson here, the one and only frontman of Corroded Coffin. Today I want to take you on a wild ride through the ups and downs of our journey to stardom. So grab your leather jackets, buckle up those combat boots, and get ready for some heavy metal madness!
The Birth of Corroded Coffin
It all started back in '82 when a bunch of misfits got together with a shared love for all things dark and heavy. Inspired by legends like Black Sabbath, we knew we had something special brewing within us. And thus, Corroded Coffin was born.
Overcoming Obstacles
Like any aspiring band trying to make it big in small-town Hawkins Indiana, we faced our fair share of obstacles along the way. Being labeled as outcasts due to our rebellious nature didn't sit well with everyone in town. But hey, who wants conformity when you can have chaos?
Despite facing criticism from some close-minded folks around here (you know who you are), nothing could extinguish the fire burning inside us. We kept pushing forward because music was what fueled our souls.
Jamming at Hellfire Club
One thing that really helped put us on the map was being part of Hellfire Club's lineup - an underground haven for rockers like ourselves seeking refuge from mundane reality. Sharing stages with other local bands gave us exposure beyond Hawkins' city limits.
Performing alongside talented musicians not only honed our skills but also fueled friendly competition among us all – especially me against Dustin's band! Though I try my best to conceal it (sorry Dusty!), seeing him shred those guitar solos always inspires me to push boundaries even further.
Gigs That Defined Us
Remember that time when Eleven used her telekinetic powers during one gig? Yeah...that definitely got people talking about Corroded Coffin. We may have accidentally destroyed half the stage, but it was a spectacle no one could forget.
Aside from that incident, we played countless gigs at local dive bars and even managed to score some opening acts for bigger bands passing through town. Each gig brought us closer to our dream of sharing our music with the world – one ear-splitting riff at a time.
The Steve Harrington Connection
Now, let's talk about something close to my heart - or should I say someone? Steve Harrington, Hawkins' resident hero and all-around cool guy. Little do people know that beyond his charming smile lies an appreciation for metal music like no other.
I've had a small crush on him ever since high school, mesmerized by his luscious hair flowing in perfect harmony with each headbang-worthy beat. But alas, being openly gay in the 80s is not exactly embraced around these parts. So for now, my admiration remains hidden within me like buried treasure waiting to be discovered someday (hopefully).
The Road Ahead
As we march onwards towards stardom (or as close as we can get), there's still so much left unexplored on this rollercoaster ride called life in Corroded Coffin. We continue writing new songs filled with raw emotions and dark tales from forgotten realms while juggling day jobs just to keep food on our plates.
But you know what? It doesn't matter how tough things get; it's all part of the journey towards achieving greatness together as brothers bound by heavy metal blood! Who knows where fate will lead us next?
Maybe someday soon we'll find ourselves touring across cities far away from Hawkins or signing record deals with major labels hungry for fresh talent like ours... until then though,
Stay Metal, Eddie Munson
