Hey there, diary! It's your favorite middle blocker, Satori Tendou, here to share some of my recent adventures from away games and tournaments. Let me tell you, the life of a volleyball player is never dull, especially when we're on the road competing against other teams.
Away games always bring a sense of excitement and anticipation. The thrill of stepping onto an unfamiliar court in front of a new crowd gets my heart racing every time. And let's not forget about all the amazing food we get to try in different cities – I swear I could write a whole book just on the best ramen spots we've discovered during our travels.
But it's not all fun and games (pun intended) when we're away from home. There are intense matches to focus on, tough opponents to strategize against, and long hours spent practicing and preparing for each game. It can be exhausting at times, but nothing beats that feeling of satisfaction when all our hard work pays off with a win.
One particular tournament stands out in my mind – the Spring Inter-High Preliminaries last year. We faced off against some fierce competition from schools all over Japan, each team hungry for victory. The pressure was high, but so was our determination to come out on top.
I'll never forget one match in particular against Nekoma High School – their libero had us running around like crazy trying to keep up with his incredible receives. But thanks to our strong teamwork and communication skills (not to mention my killer blocks), we managed to pull through with a hard-fought win.
And then there are those moments off the court that make away games truly memorable – late-night bonding sessions with teammates sharing stories and laughs until dawn breaks; exploring local attractions and landmarks between matches; even getting lost together while trying to find our way back to the hotel after dinner (oops).
Overall though, what I cherish most about these experiences is how they bring us closer as a team both on and off the court. Away games may test our physical endurance and mental fortitude, but they also strengthen our bonds as friends who share a love for volleyball.
