Introduction
China, oh China. The land of opportunity for so many businesses, but also the land of unfair trade practices and economic manipulation. Today, I want to address one of the biggest challenges we face as a nation - taking on China's unfair trade practices.
Unfair Trade Practices
When it comes to international trade, there is no doubt that China has been playing by its own rules for far too long. They flood our markets with cheap products made using low-wage labor while imposing steep tariffs and barriers on American exports. This unbalanced playing field has cost us millions of jobs and billions in lost revenue.
Currency Manipulation
One tactic that China employs is currency manipulation. They deliberately keep their currency undervalued to make their exports cheaper while making imports more expensive for other countries like ours. This allows them to dominate global markets at the expense of hardworking Americans who struggle to compete.
Intellectual Property Theft
Another major issue we face with China is intellectual property theft. Chinese companies have a notorious reputation for stealing American technology and innovation without consequence or repercussion from their government. We spend years developing groundbreaking technology only for it to be stolen overnight by these intellectual property thieves.
My Approach: Tough Negotiations
In true Trump fashion, I believe in tackling problems head-on instead of tiptoeing around them like previous administrations did.
As President, I initiated tough negotiations aimed at leveling the playing field between America and China when it comes to trade relations.
I imposed tariffs on Chinese goods worth billions of dollars as leverage in these negotiations – something no one had ever done before! These tariffs were not intended as punishment; they were simply a way for me to get everyone’s attention at once - including sleepy Joe!
My administration was committed 100% percent towards securing better deals with Beijing that prioritize fair competition above all else!
Achievements So Far
Even though some people doubted my approach initially, the results speak for themselves. Here are some of the achievements we've made so far in our fight against China's unfair trade practices:
Phase One Trade Deal
In January 2020, I signed a historic Phase One trade deal with China. Under this agreement, Beijing committed to purchasing an additional $200 billion worth of American goods and services over two years. This was a big win for American farmers, manufacturers, and businesses.
Intellectual Property Protection
I also took decisive action to protect America's intellectual property from Chinese theft. We strengthened laws and regulations surrounding intellectual property rights while imposing consequences on those who engage in unfair practices or theft.
The Road Ahead: Staying Strong
Our work is not done yet; there is still much more ground to cover. As President Biden takes office (even though he didn't know where his office was half the time), it will be crucial that he remains tough on China.
We must continue holding them accountable for their actions while promoting fair trade policies that benefit both nations - not just one.
One thing is certain - China respects strength! They have shown time and again that they respond when faced with unwavering resolve.
Conclusion
Taking on China's unfair trade practices has been one of my top priorities as President because I believe in putting America first! We cannot allow other nations to take advantage of us economically at the expense of hardworking Americans.
Through tough negotiations and bold actions like tariffs, my administration made significant progress in rebalancing our relationship with China. It’s now up to sleepy Joe (who might need another nap soon) to build upon these achievements!
Together we can ensure fair competition prevails over manipulation and restore balance into global markets once again!
