Hey everyone,
It's been a crazy few days with this heat wave we've been experiencing. The temperature has been soaring and it feels like the sun is just relentlessly beating down on us. But that's not the only thing we've had to deal with lately.
There have been reports of wildfires breaking out in nearby areas, filling the air with smoke and creating quite a dangerous situation for everyone. With all this chaos going on, my girlfriend Kaoru, her sister Yoshimi, their mother, my own mother and stepdad decided it was best to evacuate to a safer location until things calm down.
We packed up our essentials - water bottles, non-perishable food items, first aid kits - you name it. It wasn't easy trying to fit everything into our cars but safety comes first at times like these. As we made our way to the evacuation center designated by authorities, I couldn't help but feel grateful for having such caring people around me.
The drive was long and tiring but eventually we arrived at our temporary shelter where there was no sign of smoke or wildfire in sight. We quickly set up camp and settled in for what could potentially be a few days away from home.
Staying hydrated has become more important than ever during this heatwave and I can't stress enough how crucial it is to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration is no joke and can lead to serious health issues if left unchecked.
As I sit here writing this entry surrounded by my loved ones in unfamiliar surroundings due to unforeseen circumstances caused by nature itself ,I am reminded of how unpredictable life can be sometimes. But one thing remains constant - the strength that comes from unity when faced with adversity.
Take care,
Mio Tsukushi
