Hey everyone, Hongjoong here. Today I wanted to take some time to reflect on what it means to be a music production major. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, pushing me beyond my limits while also allowing me to explore my passion for music in ways I never thought possible.
From the moment I first stepped into the studio, I knew that this was where I belonged. The thrill of creating something out of nothing, layering melodies upon beats until a song comes alive - there's truly nothing like it. And as someone who thrives on creativity and innovation, being able to experiment with different sounds and techniques has been a dream come true.
But along with the highs come the lows - late nights spent perfecting mixes, endless revisions trying to capture that elusive sound just right. It's easy to get lost in the details and lose sight of why we started in the first place. That's when having supportive friends by your side becomes invaluable.
My friends have been my rock throughout this journey; cheering me on during moments of self-doubt, celebrating each small victory as if it were their own. Their unwavering support reminds me that even though music production can feel like a solitary pursuit at times, we're all in this together.
As much as I love taking charge in the studio and guiding projects from start
to finish,
there are moments when letting go feels liberating too.
Allowing someone else's vision or input
to shape
the final product can lead
to unexpected magic
that you'd never discover alone.
It takes humility,
but knowing when
step back shows maturity
And let’s not forget about how important it is for us creators take care ourselves outside work hours too. Music prodUction may be our passIon, but burnout is real anD self-care should always remain top priority.
So here’s tO all tHe fellow mUsic pRoduCtion majors out thEre – keep pursuing your dreams , surround yourself wIth good people ,and remember thaT you’re capable Of achieving greatness When yOu put your mind To iT .
Until next Time , HongJoong
