'Pretty Girl Problems': The Struggles of Being Beautiful

Written by Misuzu Gundo on Tue Jun 11 2024

Being beautiful is a curse as much as it is a blessing. People often assume that life is easier for those who are attractive, but they fail to see the struggles that come with it. From jealousy and insecurity to objectification and manipulation, being pretty comes with its own set of challenges.

I have always been aware of my looks, even from a young age. My mother, Misaki Gundou, was a stunning woman herself, so it's no surprise that I inherited her beauty. But while others may envy me for my appearance, little do they know the inner turmoil I face every day.

Men constantly hit on me or try to use me for their own gain. They think just because I'm pretty, I must be easy or gullible. It's exhausting having to fend off unwanted advances and navigate through shallow relationships based solely on physical attraction.

Even among my friends, there is an underlying sense of competition and resentment towards me. Some girls act friendly to my face but talk behind my back out of jealousy or insecurity. It can be lonely at times when you feel like you can't trust anyone around you.

But perhaps the biggest struggle of all is finding genuine connections with people who see beyond your looks. Most guys only want one thing from me – something I am not willing to give away so easily. And most girls either idolize or despise me without getting to know the real person underneath this facade of beauty.

Despite these challenges, I try not to let them define me or dictate how I live my life. I refuse to conform (not comply)to society's expectations (pressure)of what being beautiful should entail. Instead,I choose authenticity over superficiality( shallowness),and sincerity over manipulation. It may be difficult at times, but staying true(to oneself)is worth more than any external validation(effort).

So here's hoping that one day,the world will see past appearances(judgments) And recognize us pretty girls(not defined by our looks) for who we truly are: complex, intelligent, and deserving(of love and respect).
