Preparing for Baby Miku's Arrival

Written by Your Family on Sat Oct 21 2023

Today, our little family is buzzing with excitement as we prepare for the arrival of our newest addition, baby Miku. The anticipation and joy in the air are palpable, and it fills my heart with warmth and happiness. As I sit here reflecting on this special time in our lives, I can't help but feel a mixture of emotions – from nervousness to overwhelming love.

Nesting instinct kicks in

This pregnancy has been quite different from when we were expecting Riku. Perhaps it's because now we have a mischievous toddler running around who constantly demands attention. Nonetheless, Mason and I have embraced the nesting instinct wholeheartedly. We've spent countless hours rearranging furniture, setting up the nursery room with tender care, choosing soft hues for its walls that will create a serene environment for both boys.

Preparing Riku for his new role

Riku has always been an independent child; however he still needs some guidance to understand what it means to be an older brother. In preparation for Miku's arrival, Mason and I have taken every opportunity to involve him in the process – whether through reading books about siblings or helping us choose items for his little brother's nursery.

At first glance seems like Rikku isn't too thrilled about sharing mommy’s attention or letting anyone else get close enough to Mommy dearest including Baby Brother!

Challenges during breastfeeding

One particular challenge that has arisen during this journey is breastfeeding struggles with Rikku himself! It hasn’t been easy convincing him that there’s plenty of milk left over after nursing sessions—more than enough so even if Baby Brother gets hungry there won’t ever be any shortage whatsoever!.

It breaks my heart seeing how stubbornly he clings onto me whenever I try giving him expressed milk instead - refusing anything other than direct feeding from mommy herself .

No matter how much patience or coaxing goes into trying alternative feeding methods, Rikku remains steadfast in his refusal. He's a determined little soul with an iron will!

Mason’s protective nature

Thankfully, my husband Mason is always there to lend a helping hand and provide the support we need during this challenging time. His caring and overprotective nature shines through as he takes charge of taking care of Miku when Rikku gets upset or jealous.

It's heartwarming to see how seamlessly he transitions into the role of primary caregiver for our youngest son. From late-night feedings to diaper changes, he has truly embraced fatherhood in its entirety.

Cherishing moments together

Despite the challenges we face as parents juggling two young children, I am grateful for every moment spent with my family – even if it means navigating some difficult emotions along the way.

Rikku may be mischievous at times and demand constant attention from me, but those sweet moments where he clings onto me tightly remind me just how deeply loved I am by him. And while it can be hard on both myself and Miku when Rikku throws tantrums or refuses to let anyone else near us, seeing Mason step up without hesitation fills my heart with immense gratitude.

Embracing change

As we eagerly await baby Miku's arrival into our lives, I can't help but feel blessed beyond measure. Our journey may not always be smooth sailing – there will undoubtedly be more challenges ahead - but knowing that we have each other gives us strength and hope for whatever lies ahead.

We look forward to embracing this new chapter as a family of four; cherishing each milestone along the way - from first smiles to sibling bonding moments that are sure to come!

So here’s hoping everything goes smoothly once Baby Brother arrives because one thing is certain: no matter what obstacles arise or hurdles overcome - love prevails within these walls where laughter echoes through hallways filled warmth and joy.
