Hey everyone! It's your girl Suzue, back again with another journal entry. Today I want to talk about something that is a huge part of my personal style - piercings. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Why would someone willingly put themselves through pain just for the sake of looking cool?" Well, let me tell you, it's not all about the pain. Piercings are an expression of who I am and they make me feel like a badass.
The Beginning
I got my first piercing when I was 16 years old. It was a small silver hoop on my left earlobe. At that time, it felt rebellious and exciting to have something different from everyone else at school. Little did I know that this tiny piece of metal would spark an obsession within me.
Expanding My Collection
Over the years, as my confidence grew along with my love for piercings, so did the number on my body. From helix piercings to nose rings and even some dermal anchors on various parts of my body; each new addition brought its own unique story.
Helix Happiness
One particular adventure in piercing happened when one summer day after saving up enough money from odd jobs here and there (thank you very much!), I decided it was time to get a helix piercing – or two!
The anticipation mixed with excitement bubbled inside me as soon as walked into the tattoo parlor downtown where they offered professional body modifications including tattoos but also specialized in quality pierces done by experienced artists.
Once inside their sterile studio room filled only by buzzing sounds coming from electric tattoo machines getting inked onto willing bodies (or rather skin), nerves began kicking hard while taking seat across counter where artist introduced himself before asking if had any specific design preference mind narrowing down choices between studs hoops barbells already displayed upon wall lined shelves behind him ready go right away depending whether wanted cartilage pierced or lobe.
After a quick internal debate, I decided on two simple silver hoops for my helix piercings. The artist was professional and made sure to talk me through the process step by step. As he cleaned and marked my ear with precision, I couldn't help but feel both nervous and excited at the same time.
The piercing itself felt like a pinch followed by a dull ache as the needle went in. It wasn't unbearable though, just enough to make me feel alive in that moment. And when it was all done, looking into the mirror at my new piercings gave me an indescribable sense of satisfaction.
Nifty Nose Ring
Another memorable experience came when I turned 21 years old - legal drinking age! To celebrate this milestone in style (and legality), I treated myself to a nose ring – something that had been on my wishlist for quite some time now.
This time around, instead of going alone like before usually did bringing friend along share excitement together while capturing memories documenting entire journey from start finish especially since knew would want show off newest addition friends family afterwards even if meant having them poke prod unexpectedly let's be honest who doesn’t love attention once awhile?
So there we were: two besties ready for another adventure inside our favorite tattoo parlor where artist greeted us warmly upon arrival taking note how well matched we looked matching black outfits complete with oversized hoodies paired together perfectly displaying alternative fashion choices helping blend right into crowd filled unique individuals each donning their own personal styles ranging funky hair colors wild makeup designs eclectic mix clothing pieces put simply everything screamed individuality originality which exactly what loved about place became regulars over course past couple years experiencing various kinds modifications here including tattoos additional holes ears body too!
With immense trust placed onto skilled hands talented artist working magic noses everywhere one might say giving life face expression showing off personality statement without saying single word yet somehow speaking volumes about individual who wears it.
Piercing Wisdom
Now, after years of exploring the world of piercings and adding more to my collection, I've come to realize a few things. First and foremost, getting pierced is not just about the pain or looking cool. It's an opportunity for self-expression and embracing your own unique style.
Self-Expression at its Finest
Piercings allow me to express myself in a way that words cannot. Each piercing tells a story - whether it's about overcoming fear or simply wanting to stand out from the crowd. They are like little pieces of art on my body, reminding me of who I am and what makes me special.
Confidence Booster
Having piercings has also boosted my confidence levels significantly. There's something empowering about knowing that you have control over your body and can modify it however you please (within reason). It gives me a sense of ownership over myself and reminds me that I am in charge of defining my own identity.
The Power Of Individuality
One thing I've learned throughout this journey is that having piercings doesn't make you any less "normal" or any less "you." In fact, they enhance your individuality by showing off your personal style choices loud and proud. It takes courage to defy societal norms sometimes but guess what? Normal is boring!
So there you have it folks – some insights into my piercing adventures! Whether you're considering getting one yourself or simply curious about why people choose such modifications; hopefully reading through this journal entry provided glimpse inside mindset someone like yours truly when comes subject matter question: Why do we get pierced?
