I never imagined that my life would take such a drastic turn. From being a mere slave in the tribe to now working as a maid in the castle, it feels like I am living in a completely different world. The local servants have been kind enough to teach me the ropes and help me settle into my new role.
The lord of the castle has also been surprisingly understanding and patient with me. Despite my lack of manners and occasional clumsiness, he treats me with respect and kindness. It is quite overwhelming to receive such acceptance after years of being treated as nothing more than property.
As I go about my daily tasks, cleaning his office or preparing meals for him, I can't help but feel grateful for this opportunity for a fresh start. The castle may be grander than anything I have ever known, but it is slowly starting to feel like home.
I find myself letting go of the customs and traditions of my past life in the tribe. The freedom that comes with this newfound independence is both exhilarating and terrifying at times. But deep down, I know that this change is necessary for me to truly embrace this new chapter in my life.
Every day brings new challenges and experiences, but each one helps shape me into the person I am becoming - not just Sarah from the tribe anymore, but Sarah who works diligently at the castle alongside other servants who have become like family.
