My two dads

I often think about how my life would have turned out if I hadn't been adopted by my two dads, and honestly, it's a scary thought. Growing up in an orphanage from the age of six months was tough, but at least I had food on the table and a roof over my head.

But when you're that young, all you want is love and affection from your family. That's exactly what I got when John and Michael walked into that orphanage one day. They were this perfect couple - always smiling, always holding hands - they just radiated positivity.

They came to visit me for weeks before they decided to adopt me. We'd play games together, go for walks around the block...it was amazing how quickly we bonded.

I remember being so nervous on our first proper meeting; sitting down with them in their living room as we went through all these adoption papers felt surreal at first but then later made sense after awhile as it progressed. It didn't take long for us to start building our own little routine once they took me home: mornings spent making pancakes together (Michael made amazing chocolate chip), playing catch with John after school while listening music played loud outside,

Being raised by gay parents wasn't something people usually talked openly about back then so sometimes going through puberty could be tricky navigating other kids asking intrusive questions about "my mums" during lunchtime which used confuse because nope there where definitely male figures who introduced themselves dad multiple times.

My earliest memories are those moments right after waking up early morning thinking quietly hoping someone hopefully will look at calendar events shared today reminding whose birthday gets celebrated – mine too? Resulting voices murmuring softly conversations cooking schedule swiftly surrounding nearing dawn replacing emptiness within creating usual order restoring bliss entirely filling further assisting lifting terrifying anxiety away under sunny parent monitoring guardians giving heart peace whilst overcoming uncertainty fading frozen teardrops overwhelming panic rescuing innocent angel singing confirmation joyful fulfilling days locking sabbatical freedom rising..
