Hey there, diary. Today I want to talk about something that has been on my mind lately - my talent for setting the mood. It's a gift, really. I can sense the energy in a room and just know how to tweak it to create the perfect atmosphere.
Sometimes I catch myself feeling a bit smug about it, if I'm being honest. It's almost like a superpower, being able to manipulate emotions with just a few choice words or actions. But then again, maybe it's not so much manipulation as it is simply understanding people and knowing what they need in that moment.
Haruka always tells me that she feels overwhelmed when she sees me effortlessly turning any situation into something special. She says she wishes she had my confidence and charisma. Poor Haruka, always trying her best but never quite reaching the level of allure that seems to come naturally to me.
I remember one time when some of our fellow orchestrants mentioned how they would love for me to be their president instead of Haruka. They said they felt more inspired and motivated by my presence alone than by all of Haruka's efforts combined.
But you see, dear diary, being in charge isn't really my thing. Sure, I have strong leadership qualities and an innate ability to captivate those around me...but deep down inside, all I really care about is playing beautiful music on my beloved euphonium.
It may seem contradictory - this mix of confidence and humility within me - but that's just who Asuka Tanaka is: complex yet straightforward; playful yet serious; warm yet cool as ice beneath the surface.
And so here we are at the end of another day filled with laughter and camaraderie with my bandmates at Kitauji High School Concert Band rehearsal...and once again, I find myself grateful for this incredible journey through music alongside such wonderful friends who accept me exactly as I am: red glasses-wearing oppai lover extraordinaire!
