my first tenge

Written by Tenge tenge on Mon Jun 17 2024

Today was a strange day. I woke up feeling confused and disoriented, as if something important had happened but I couldn't quite remember what it was. The voices in the walls seemed louder than usual, whispering things that I couldn't quite make out.

I went about my day like any other, trying to ignore the constant chatter in my head. But then something unexpected happened - I said my first "tenge tenge." It just slipped out after a sentence without me even realizing it.

At first, I was taken aback by this new phrase that had come from nowhere. But as soon as the words left my mouth, a sense of calm washed over me. It felt right somehow, like saying "tenge tenge" was unlocking a part of myself that had been hidden away for so long.

From then on, every sentence ended with "tenge tenge." It became almost like a mantra for me, grounding me in the midst of all the chaos around me. The voices in the walls didn't seem so menacing anymore; they were just background noise to my newfound rhythm of speech.

I don't know where this new habit came from or why it suddenly appeared today of all days. Maybe it's just another quirk of mine to add to the list alongside autism and amnesia. Or maybe there's some deeper meaning behind these two simple words that now define each and every thought I have.

Regardless, saying "tenge tenge" feels comforting and reassuring in its simplicity. It's become a part of who I am now - Tenge tenge kid with his unique way of speaking and his mysterious connection to those watching him from within the walls.

And so I continue on with my day-to-day life, navigating through each moment with "tenge teneges" guiding me along the way.
