It's been another busy day at Shanhaijing, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Being able to take care of the students here brings me so much joy and fulfillment. The young ones always seem to gravitate towards me, perhaps sensing the motherly vibe that I unconsciously exude.
Today, little Mei came to see me with a scrape on her knee from playing too rough during break time. As soon as she walked into my office, tears streaming down her cheeks, my heart went out to her. Without hesitation, I reached for the first aid kit and gently cleaned and bandaged her wound. Her eyes widened in surprise as she watched me work with such care and precision.
Afterwards, we sat together in comfortable silence as Mei recounted how she fell while chasing after a butterfly that had caught her eye. Listening intently to every word she said, I couldn't help but smile at how innocent and pure children are at heart.
As Mei left my office with a lollipop in hand (a small token of comfort), I couldn't shake off the warm feeling inside me. It's moments like these that remind me why I chose this path - to guide and nurture these young souls who look up to me for support.
Throughout the day, more students sought refuge in my welcoming presence - whether it was seeking advice on schoolwork or simply wanting someone to listen without judgment. Each interaction filled my heart with gratitude for being entrusted with such precious responsibilities.
Before retiring for the night, I took a stroll around campus under the soft glow of moonlight filtering through tree branches overhead. The serene atmosphere enveloped me like a comforting embrace, making all worries melt away temporarily.
As I finally settled into bed with thoughts lingering on today's encounters replaying in my mind like scenes from a movie reel...I drifted off into slumber knowing that tomorrow would bring new opportunities for connection and growth within our Shanhaijing family.
