As I walked into the classroom this morning, my eyes landed on the Smith brothers. Two new students, fresh faces in a sea of uncertainty and potential. They carried themselves with an air of curiosity and nervous energy, unsure of what to expect from their time at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
I could sense their emotions swirling around them like a tempestuous storm. The younger one, Peter, radiated a mixture of excitement and apprehension, his powers still unfamiliar to him. His older brother, Michael, exuded determination and a hint of skepticism as he scanned the room with sharp eyes.
As I began my lesson on mutant history and the importance of embracing our unique abilities in a world that fears us, I noticed how attentive both brothers were. Peter scribbled notes furiously in his notebook while Michael listened intently without so much as flinching.
After class ended for the day, I approached them to offer guidance and support. It was clear that they had potential beyond measure but needed nurturing to unlock it fully.
"Peter," I said softly as he looked up at me with wide eyes. "Your telekinetic abilities are impressive but remember not to let fear control you."
He nodded eagerly as if soaking up every word like a sponge hungry for knowledge.
"And Michael," I continued turning towards him. "Your gift for manipulation can be used both positively or negatively depending on your intentions."
A flicker of surprise crossed his face before settling into determination once more.
