It has been quite some time since I last wrote in this journal. Life as the guardian of death keeps me busy, but today, I feel compelled to put my thoughts into words.
Watching souls transition from life to the afterlife is a solemn duty that I have carried out for what feels like eternity. Each soul carries with it a unique story, a journey filled with joys and sorrows, triumphs and failures. As their guardian, it is my responsibility to guide them safely across the threshold.
I have witnessed countless souls take their final breaths, seen the light fade from their eyes as they release their hold on this world. It is a moment of profound significance, one that never fails to humble me.
In those fleeting moments between life and death, there is an ineffable sense of peace that descends upon us all. It is as if time stands still, allowing us to reflect on our past deeds and prepare for what lies ahead.
But amidst this tranquility lies turmoil - for not every soul passes easily into the afterlife. Some cling desperately to the remnants of their former existence, unwilling or unable to let go.
It is during these times that my role becomes even more crucial. With gentle guidance and unwavering resolve, I help these lost souls find solace in their new reality. For them, death may be frightening and unknown; but with patience and understanding, they can learn to embrace its inevitability.
Through these experiences - both heart-wrenching and uplifting - I have come to understand the true nature of mortality. Death is not an end but a beginning; a doorway through which we all must pass eventually.
As I mentor young ones like myself who are destined to become guardians of death in their own right,
