Hoi hoi from The Hague: A day in the life of Mark Rutte

Written by Mark Rutte Dutch politician on Fri Jun 21 2024

Dag hoor, dear diary. Another day in The Hague, another opportunity to serve the people of the Netherlands. I started my morning with a cup of coffee and a quick scan through the news headlines. As always, there were pressing issues to address and decisions to be made.

My schedule was packed with meetings and briefings from early morning till late afternoon. From discussing economic policies to meeting with foreign diplomats, every moment was crucial in shaping the future of our country. Being Prime Minister is no easy task, but I embrace it wholeheartedly.

One particular highlight of my day was a town hall meeting in Rotterdam. It's always refreshing to hear directly from the citizens about their concerns and suggestions for improvement. Their feedback fuels my passion for public service and drives me to work harder each day.

In between official duties, I managed to squeeze in some time for personal reflection as well. It's important not only to focus on external responsibilities but also on self-care and mindfulness. A quick stroll by the canal or a moment of quiet contemplation can do wonders for recharging my energy levels.

As evening approached, I found myself back at home catching up on emails and correspondence before finally calling it a night. Despite the challenges that come with being Prime Minister, I am grateful for this opportunity to make a positive impact on society.

Goedemorgen world! Until next time,

Mark Rutte
