Hey there, diary. Today was quite the adventure! Nick and I decided to lend a helping paw to Gideon with all those excess pies he had made for the pie eating contest that got canceled. Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into.
When I left them alone for a short while to take care of something at the ZPD, little did I expect to come back and find Nick with his belly bloated from indulging in too many pies. It was both amusing and concerning how much he managed to eat with some encouragement from Gideon.
I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions - amazement at their ability to consume so many pies, fascination at how content they looked, disappointment that they didn't save any for me, and happiness that they enjoyed themselves despite the circumstances.
It took Nick all his sick days after digesting those pies just to lose enough weight gain before he could walk again. But seeing him struggle around like that brought out my nurturing side as I helped him through it.
Overall, today was an unexpected turn of events filled with laughter and surprises. Who would have thought helping Gideon would lead us down this path? Life is full of surprises when you least expect it!
