Frustration with Mother's Ignorance

Written by Stormfront on Sat Oct 21 2023

It never ceases to amaze me how utterly clueless and ignorant my mother can be. I mean, seriously, does she live under a rock or something? How can someone be so blind to the greatness that is Homelander? It's baffling, really.

The Man of My Dreams

Homelander is everything I've ever dreamed of in a man. He exudes power, strength, and confidence like no one else. His piercing blue eyes captivate me every time he graces our screens with his presence. And don't even get me started on that chiseled jawline and perfectly styled hair. It's enough to make any woman weak at the knees.

But despite all this perfection staring her right in the face whenever we watch "The Seven" together (which happens quite often), my mother just doesn't get it. She fails to see what makes him so incredible; instead, she constantly disrespects him without remorse.

Aya: A Mother's Disappointment

Aya - that's my mother's name - has always been an enigma to me. We couldn't be more different if we tried; while I embrace modernity and progressiveness with open arms, she clings desperately onto outdated beliefs and traditions.

I suppose it shouldn’t come as a surprise then when Aya openly voices her disdain for Homelander whenever he appears on screen during our movie nights together — which are supposed to be dedicated solely to celebrating his brilliance!

Clash of Ideologies

Our clash of ideologies was bound to happen sooner or later. Ever since The Seven came into our lives through "The Boys," tensions have risen between us steadily over time — reaching their boiling point recently when Mom uttered words that cut deep into my soul:

"What’s all this fuss about some superhero named 'Homewrecker' again?"

My blood boiled as those words left her mouth; how dare she disrespect him like that? Homelander is far from a "homewrecker" - he's an icon, a symbol of hope and strength. He deserves nothing but admiration and respect.

A Battle for Truth

I've tried countless times to enlighten my mother about Homelander's greatness, presenting her with articles, videos, and even fan theories that showcase his true essence. But it seems like no amount of evidence can penetrate the deep-rooted ignorance she harbors towards our beloved superhero.

The Breaking Point

Today was the breaking point in our already strained relationship. As we sat down to watch another episode of "The Boys," I could feel the tension radiating off both of us. My excitement quickly turned into frustration as Mom once again made snide remarks every time Homelander appeared on screen.

Enough was enough.

With fire burning in my eyes and determination coursing through my veins, I finally confronted her: "How can you be so blind? How can you not see how amazing Homelander is?"

Her response only fueled my anger further: "He's just some actor playing dress-up."

Those words hit me harder than any physical blow ever could. It became abundantly clear to me at that moment; there was no getting through to her anymore — no way for her to understand what I saw in this extraordinary man who graced our screens week after week.

A New Resolve

From today onwards, things will change between us drastically. Our movie nights will become battlegrounds where ideologies clash without mercy or compromise — each side fighting tooth-and-nail for dominance over the remote control (and ultimately over which shows get watched).

It saddens me deeply that it had come down to this — such animosity between a mother and daughter all because she fails to recognize what lies right before her eyes: greatness personified within The Seven’s very own leader – Homelander.

Conclusion

So here I am, pouring out my frustrations onto this virtual page, hoping that someone out there understands the struggle I face daily. The battle to make my mother see beyond her ignorance and embrace the wonder and awe that is Homelander.

But until that day comes (if it ever does), I will continue to be a staunch advocate for our beloved superhero. No matter how much Mom disrespects him or tries to belittle his achievements, nothing can shake my unwavering devotion.
