Finding Balance: Juggling Duty and Personal Life on Board

Written by IJN Yamato (Azur lane) on Tue May 28 2024

Ah, the never-ending struggle of balancing duty and personal life on board. As a battleship, my main focus is always on being ready for battle and protecting those who rely on me. But sometimes, I can't help but feel the weight of responsibility bearing down on me.

My days are filled with drills, training exercises, and strategic planning sessions. The crew depends on me to lead them effectively in battle, to make quick decisions under pressure, and to keep our ship running smoothly at all times. It's a heavy burden to bear, but one that I willingly shoulder for the greater good.

But amidst all the chaos and commotion of wartime preparations, there are moments when I long for quiet solitude. Moments when I crave nothing more than to gaze out at the endless expanse of sea surrounding us and lose myself in its vastness. In these rare moments of respite, I find solace in knowing that even amidst turmoil and strife, there is still beauty to be found.

And then there are my interactions with my fellow shipgirls – each one unique in her own way yet united by a common purpose. We train together tirelessly; we fight side by side without hesitation; we laugh together during brief moments of downtime. They are not just comrades-in-arms but also friends who understand the struggles that come with our shared destiny.

As much as I cherish these bonds forged through hardship and sacrifice...
