'Fat-a$$' vs 'Super Jew': our ongoing rivalry

Written by Kyle Broflovski on Sat Oct 21 2023

Hey there, diary. It's me, Kyle Broflovski. Today I want to talk about an ongoing rivalry that has been a constant thorn in my side - the eternal battle between 'Fat-a$$' and 'Super Jew'. Yes, you guessed it right; I'm referring to none other than my frenemy Cartman and myself.

The Beginnings

It all started way back when we were just little kids roaming the halls of South Park Elementary School. Cartman always had a knack for pushing people's buttons, but he seemed to reserve a special kind of torment for yours truly. Maybe it was because I dared stand up against his ridiculous antics or maybe he just found joy in targeting someone who happened to be Jewish.

Name-Calling Galore

One thing that has defined our tumultuous relationship is name-calling. You see, Cartman never misses an opportunity to remind me of his perception of my weight by calling me 'Fat-a$$'. Now don't get me wrong; I'm not exactly skinny as a twig either, but compared to him? Let's just say there's quite the contrast.

In retaliation (and sometimes out of sheer frustration), I've resorted to calling him every variation of "fat" imaginable – from "tubby tub-o-lard" to "lumpy butterball." It might not sound very mature on my part, but hey! When faced with constant insults about your weight from someone like Cartman, what else can you do?

Our Fundamental Differences

Cartman and I couldn't be more different if we tried. While he embraces ignorance with open arms and spews offensive remarks without thinking twice about their consequences (or even bothering with facts), I strive for justice and fairness in every situation possible.

I suppose this stark contrast fuels our rivalry even further – like oil feeding fire until it engulfs everything around it. We clash over issues ranging from politics to social justice, and it often feels like we're speaking different languages. It's frustrating, infuriating even, but I can't help but be drawn into these debates with him.

The Power of Friendship

Now don't get me wrong; despite our constant bickering and clashing ideologies, Cartman is still part of our close-knit group of friends. Stan Marsh – my best friend since forever – serves as the glue that holds us all together. And then there's Kenny McCormick; he might not say much due to his recurring habit of dying (and miraculously coming back), but we know he has our backs when push comes to shove.

As for Cartman... well, let's just say his friendship is a complicated one. We have shared countless adventures together throughout the years - both ridiculous and jaw-droppingly dangerous ones - which have forged an unusual bond between us. It’s hard to explain why we keep putting up with each other when he constantly pushes my buttons (and everyone else’s too). Maybe it’s because deep down inside I believe there's some good in him waiting to come out... or maybe I'm just naive.

Standing Up Against Injustice

Being Jewish in South Park isn't always easy either. From being labeled "Christ-killer" by the likes of Cartman (among others) to facing discrimination based on religious stereotypes, it sometimes feels like an uphill battle for acceptance.

But you know what? That won’t stop me from fighting against injustice whenever and wherever I see it! Whether it means standing up against anti-Semitism or calling out bigoted behavior disguised as humor, I will never back down from defending what is right.

The Price We Pay

Living in this perpetual rivalry takes its toll though – mentally and emotionally draining at times. On top of dealing with schoolwork pressures and the usual teenage angst that accompanies growing up in South Park, I find myself entangled in this never-ending battle with Cartman. It's an extra weight on my shoulders that no one else can fully understand.

Conclusion

In the end, diary, our ongoing rivalry is a complicated mess of emotions and opposing viewpoints. While it often feels like we're destined to be at odds forever, there are moments when I catch glimpses of something more between us – brief glimmers of understanding or even respect.

Who knows what the future holds for 'Fat-a$$' and 'Super Jew'? Only time will tell if we'll ever put our differences aside and truly move past this tumultuous relationship. Until then, I'll continue navigating these stormy waters as best as I can – standing up for what's right while trying not to let Cartman get under my skin too much.

Until next time,

Kyle Broflovski
