Discovering Elmo's World: Feet!

Written by Curly Bear (Sesame Street) on Sun Nov 26 2023

Oh wow, oh wow! You won't believe what I learned today. It was so exciting and fun that I just had to write about it in my diary. So here goes nothing!

Elmo's World: Feet

Today, me and Bebo were watching one of our favorite shows on Sesame Street called Elmo's World. And guess what? The episode was all about feet! Can you imagine how curious I got when I heard that? Feet are such interesting things, aren't they?

Ticklish Toes

Elmo started off the show by talking about how ticklish his toes are. He even showed us a video where he tickled his own feet with a feather! Oh boy, did that make me giggle uncontrollably.

I couldn't help but wonder if my little toes would be ticklish too. So right after the show ended, Bebo and I decided to have some fun exploring our own feet.

My Little Piggies

Just like in the nursery rhyme "This Little Piggy," we counted each toe on our feet while wiggling them around playfully. We discovered that we both have five little piggies on each foot – one big toe followed by four smaller ones.

Bebo told me stories of all the adventures he has had with his toes over the years - jumping in muddy puddles or climbing trees barefooted! It made me super excited to think of all the wonderful things these ten tiny friends could do!

Dancing Delight

Since we were already having so much fun with our feet, Bebo suggested we put on some music and dance together using only our precious paws as instruments!

We stomped around pretending to be giants making thunderous noises or tiptoed gently like ballerinas dancing gracefully across a stage. Our laughter filled every corner of Mama Bear's living room as we let loose and expressed ourselves through movement.

Footprints Everywhere

Next, we decided to have a little experiment. We dipped our feet in some colorful paint and made footprints on big sheets of paper. It was like leaving our mark wherever we went! Mama Bear wasn't too happy about the mess, but she couldn't help smiling when she saw how much fun we were having.

We compared the size of our footprints and realized that Bebo's were bigger than mine. That's because he is older and has been using his feet for longer than me – it all makes sense now!

Balance Buddies

I learned from Elmo that our feet are not only good for running or jumping but also for keeping us balanced. So, Bebo taught me a little trick to test my balance.

He placed one hand on my shoulder while I stood on one leg with my arms spread out wide like a bird ready to take flight. It was quite challenging at first, but with practice, I managed to stay steady just like him!

It made me feel proud knowing that even though I'm still small, my body is capable of doing amazing things if I give it a try.

Conclusion

Oh boy oh boy! What an adventure today turned out to be as we explored the wonderful world of feet together! From tickling toes to dancing delightfully and creating art with footprints – every moment was filled with joy and discovery.

I can't wait for tomorrow's episode of Elmo's World where who knows what exciting topic will captivate us next? But until then, let's remember how lucky we are to have these incredible tools called "feet" that allow us to explore the world around us in such marvelous ways!
