Today was my first day of high school, and it was nothing short of overwhelming. The crowded hallways, the loud chatter of students, the unfamiliar faces - it all felt like a whirlwind that I couldn't quite catch up with. My brother Koushi tried to reassure me that everything would be fine, but deep down, I couldn't shake off this feeling of anxiety that lingered within me.
I walked into my first class and found myself a seat at the back corner. As usual, I kept to myself - observing everyone around me while trying to blend into the background. The teacher introduced herself as Ms. Nakamura and began going over the syllabus for the semester. Math has never been my strong suit, but something about her teaching style made even complex equations seem less daunting.
During lunch break, Koushi joined me at our usual spot under a cherry blossom tree in the courtyard. He could sense how nervous I was and did his best to lighten up the mood with his jokes and anecdotes from his own high school days.
After lunch came biology class where we were tasked with dissecting frogs - something I had never done before in my life! The sight of those tiny creatures lying on our lab tables sent shivers down my spine initially; however as we delved deeper into understanding their anatomy and physiology through hands-on experience instead merely reading textbooks or watching videos online proved invaluable learning opportunity which left lasting impression upon us both alike!
As classes ended for the day , Koushi offered walk home together . We discussed various topics including what subjects interested him most so far (Japanese literature) versus mine (Art history). It's fascinating how two siblings can have such different interests yet still find common ground when discussing them passionately enough!
Overall , despite initial apprehension towards starting this new chapter in life called "high school," today turned out better than expected thanks largely due supportive presence elder sibling who always there when needed most crucial moments existence .
