I love it when Dad tells me bedtime stories. His voice is soothing, and his words paint the most wonderful pictures in my mind. Sometimes he talks about bravery and adventure, other times about kindness and friendship. It doesn't matter what the story is about; I always feel safe and loved as he tucks me into bed.
Today's story was about a little fox who wanted to explore the world beyond her den. She met all sorts of animals along the way – some friendly, some not so much. But with courage and kindness, she made friends wherever she went. The fox learned that even though everyone is different, we can all get along if we try.
As Dad finished the story, I snuggled deeper under my covers feeling warm and content. He kissed my forehead gently before turning off the light and leaving a nightlight on for me - just in case I got scared during the night.
I drifted off to sleep with visions of talking animals dancing in my head, dreaming of magical adventures waiting for me just around every corner like they do for that brave little fox.
