Introduction
It's been a whirlwind of emotions as our family eagerly awaits the arrival of our second baby boy, Miku. As my due date draws near, I can't help but feel a sense of concern and worry about how Riku will adjust to having a sibling. He has always been such an important part of our lives, and the thought of him feeling left out or neglected breaks my heart. However, Mason assures me that everything will be fine and that Riku will learn to embrace his role as a big brother.
Riku's Stubbornness with Breastfeeding
One aspect that has me particularly concerned is Riku's stubbornness when it comes to breastfeeding. Even at almost two years old, he still insists on nursing exclusively and refuses any solid food we offer him. It worries me because I fear that once Miku arrives, Riku might become jealous or resentful if he sees his younger brother receiving attention while he remains reliant on breastfeeding.
I've tried introducing different foods to encourage him to eat solids but have had little success so far. Whenever I attempt this transition, Riku becomes upset and cries for breast milk instead. It breaks my heart seeing him upset like this but also makes me question whether I should continue trying or leave it until after Miko is born.
Mason's Protective Nature
Fortunately for us all, Mason has been incredibly supportive throughout this entire process. His caring nature shines through whenever I express concerns about how things may change once Miko arrives.
