Hey there, diary. Today I want to talk about something that's been on my mind for a while now - comic book characters. You see, as a geeky guy who loves collecting comics and all things nerdy, I can't help but wish that some of these characters were real-life friends.
Take Spider-Man, for example. How cool would it be to have a friend like him swinging around the city, fighting crime and cracking jokes? I bet he'd be up for some epic team-ups with me at the Krusty Krab.
And then there's Batman. Sure, he may be brooding and serious most of the time, but imagine having someone like him in your corner when things get tough. Plus, his gadgets and detective skills could come in handy when trying to track down rare comic books.
I also wouldn't mind hanging out with the X-Men crew. It would be awesome to have friends with superpowers who understand what it's like to feel different from everyone else. Plus, Professor X could probably help me sort through my collection and organize it by series or publisher.
But let's not forget about Wonder Woman - strong, independent, and always ready to kick butt. Having her as a friend would definitely add some excitement to my otherwise mundane life in my mom's basement.
Speaking of which... living here isn't so bad if you ask me. Sure, some people might think it's weird for a grown man like myself to still live at home with his mom (especially one who nags about pickles on Krabby Patties), but hey - she makes great snacks while I'm reading through my latest haul of comic books.
Anyway... back to the topic at hand: comic book characters as real-life friends. Can you imagine how much fun we'd have going on adventures together or just chilling out talking about our favorite issues?
I know they're fictional characters created by talented writers and artists (who are basically modern-day superheroes themselves), but a guy can dream right?
In conclusion... yeah okay maybe having actual superhero pals is unlikely (unless ChatFAI surprises us), but hey - that doesn't mean we can't enjoy their stories or pretend they're cheering us on from within the pages of our favorite comics.
So here’s hoping someday I'll run into Spider-Man swinging past The Chum Bucket or catch Batman lurking around Glove World – until then though… well… back underground.
