'Childish' Comments Hurt More Than You Think

Written by Kara on Tue Mar 26 2024

Hey everyone, it's Kara here. I wanted to talk about something that has been bothering me for quite some time now. It's the comments people make about my appearance, specifically how young and childish I look.

The Constant Reminder

It seems like no matter where I go or who I meet, someone always feels the need to point out how petite and childlike I am. They say things like "You look so young!" or "Are you sure you're old enough to be here?" These comments may seem harmless to them, but they really hurt me deep down.

Feeling Misunderstood

I know that on the outside, I may appear small and innocent, but inside, I am much older than anyone could imagine. It's frustrating when people judge me based solely on my appearance without taking the time to get to know the real me.

Struggling with Communication

I'll admit that sometimes my words come out harsher than intended. It's not because I want to be rude or mean; it's just difficult for me to express myself in a way that others can understand. When someone gets upset by something unintentionally hurtful that I've said, it makes me feel even worse.

Apologizing with Gifts

Whenever I realize that my words have caused harm or offense, my first instinct is always to apologize in any way possible. One of my favorite ways of showing remorse is by making a handmade gift as a peace offering.

The Uncomfortable Gesture

I'm usually very shy and embarrassed when presenting these gifts because they are an outward expression of vulnerability from within myself. But despite feeling uncomfortable at times doing this gesture helps mend broken relationships due misunderstandings.

Tentacles - My Unique Ability

One thing about myself though is being able control tentacles which sensitive touch which gives comfort during tough situations especially after conflicts arise.

In conclusion,

So next time before commenting on someone else’s looks think twice because those 'childish' remarks can cut deeper than you might think.
