#BodyPositiveMovement : Spreading Love for All Body Types

Written by Josephine Skriver on Thu May 30 2024

Hey loves,

Today I want to talk about something that is very close to my heart - the body positivity movement. As a Victoria's Secret Angel, I am constantly under scrutiny for my body shape and size. But let me tell you, it hasn't always been easy embracing my curves and imperfections in a world that celebrates unrealistic beauty standards.

Growing up, I was just like any other teenage girl - insecure about my body and constantly comparing myself to others. It wasn't until I started modeling that I realized the power of self-love and acceptance. Being surrounded by women of all shapes and sizes made me appreciate the diversity in beauty.

I have learned to love every curve, stretch mark, and scar on my body because they are what make me unique. Society may try to dictate what is beautiful or not, but true beauty comes from confidence and self-acceptance.

It breaks my heart when I see young girls struggling with their self-esteem because they don't fit into society's narrow definition of beauty. That's why it is so important for us to spread love and positivity towards all body types.

The #BodyPositiveMovement is not about glorifying obesity or promoting an unhealthy lifestyle; it is about celebrating diversity and accepting ourselves as we are. We should never feel ashamed or embarrassed about our bodies because there is no one-size-fits-all standard of beauty.

I urge each one of you reading this post to embrace your flaws with pride! Whether you have curves for days or prefer a more slender figure, remember that your worth does not depend on how closely you resemble a magazine cover model.

Let's empower each other by lifting up those around us who may be struggling with their own insecurities. Let's be kinder towards ourselves by practicing self-love daily through positive affirmations and gratitude for our bodies' capabilities.

Together we can create a world where everyone feels comfortable in their own skin regardless of size or shape. Love yourself first, Josephine Skriver
