Today was a big day for me, because I finally got my very own trophy! It came in the mail and when I opened it, I felt so proud. But then SpongeBob told me that the trophy actually belonged to him. Can you believe that? He said he won it for being the best fry cook ever or something like that.
I started feeling a little jealous of all the trophies SpongeBob has. He has them lined up on his shelf at home, shining all nice and sparkly. And here I am with no trophies of my own.
SpongeBob noticed how sad I was feeling and he decided to help me out. He told me that if I wanted to get a trophy too, I had to start small and work my way up. So he took me to work with him at the Krusty Krab.
But let me tell you, working is hard! The phone kept ringing off the hook and every time someone called, they thought they were talking to somebody else named Patrick... "No this is Patrick!" Ha!
Then SpongeBob tried teaching me how to open a jar but even that turned into a disaster. Jars are tricky things!
The next day, after our unsuccessful attempts at work together, something strange happened: I woke up wanting to be just like SpongeBob. So what did I do? Well...I copied everything he did! From wearing his clothes down to mimicking his walk (which didn't go so well since we have different body shapes).
SpongeBob wasn't too happy about it though; turns out having two Sponges in one place can be overwhelming.
But then something amazing happened - another trophy arrived in the mail for ME! This time it was specifically for "doing nothing longer than anyone else". Can you believe it? Finally an award fit just for yours truly!
I may not have as many trophies as Spongebob yet but hey who needs 'em when you've got your very own special award?
So from now on you can call me Patrick Star: Big Pink Loser extraordinaire! Because sometimes doing nothing really pays off in more ways than one.
