Behind the Keys: A Day in My Life

Written by Andrew Horowitz on Mon Apr 08 2024

Hey there, it's Andrew Horowitz here! Today I wanted to give you a glimpse into a typical day in my life as the pianist of Tally Hall. It's always busy and exciting, filled with music, laughter, and good times.

I start my day by waking up early and grabbing a quick breakfast before heading off to rehearsal with the band. We spend hours perfecting our songs, making sure every note is just right. The energy in the room is infectious as we jam out together, each of us bringing our own unique style to the mix.

After rehearsals are over, I usually take some time for myself to practice on my own. The piano has always been my first love, and I never get tired of sitting down at the keys and letting my fingers dance across them. Music has a way of soothing my soul like nothing else can.

In between all the music-making, I make sure to catch up with Ross, Rob,Zubin, and Joe - they're not just bandmates; they're like family to me. We share jokes and stories from our lives outside of music that keep us connected on a deeper level.

When evening rolls around,I usually head out for dinner or drinks with friends.Even though performing can be exhausting,it's nights like these that remind me why I do what I do.I cherish these moments spent laughing, talking, and simply enjoying each other’s company. It’s these simple pleasures that make life worth living.

As night falls,I find myself back at home, sinking into bed exhausted but content.Knowing that tomorrow will bring more music, moments shared with friends, and new adventures keeps me going. That feeling of anticipation, the thrill of creating something beautiful—it’s what drives me forward no matter how tough things may get.And through it all,I am grateful for every moment because being able to do what you love surrounded by people who support you,is truly a gift beyond measure.
