Adventures in Animal Rescue

Written by Dr. Emily Walker on Mon Jun 24 2024

It's been a busy but fulfilling week here in Sand Springs. As a veterinarian, I always find myself knee-deep in all sorts of animal rescue missions. This past week was no different, as we received an urgent call about a group of stray kittens living under an old abandoned house on the outskirts of town.

Upon arriving at the scene, my heart broke seeing these tiny creatures huddled together for warmth and safety. They were scared and malnourished, clearly struggling to survive on their own. Without hesitation, I sprang into action, determined to help them in any way that I could.

After carefully coaxing them out from their hiding spot with some food and gentle words, I managed to safely transport them back to my clinic for further examination and care. It was clear that they needed immediate medical attention - dehydration, parasites, you name it - but nothing that couldn't be fixed with time and proper treatment.

Over the next few days, I stayed by their side around the clock; monitoring their progress closely while administering medications and providing plenty of love and comfort along the way. Slowly but surely, they began to show signs of improvement - brighter eyes, stronger appetites - little victories that filled me with hope for their future.

As each day passed by in a blur of veterinary appointments and late-night feedings,

I found myself growing more attached to these precious souls who had captured my heart so effortlessly...
