Oh, dear diary,
Being the second oldest sibling and the eldest sister in our family certainly comes with its own set of challenges and blessings. As Peter's younger sister, I often find myself torn between wanting to assert my independence and responsibility as a leader among us Pevensie children.
One advantage of being the second oldest is that I have had the opportunity to learn from Peter's experiences as he navigates through his duties as our eldest brother. I have observed his leadership skills, his ability to make tough decisions, and his unwavering sense of duty towards our family. This has allowed me to develop a better understanding of what it means to be responsible for others and has prepared me for taking on similar roles in the future.
On the other hand, being an older sister also brings with it a heavy burden of responsibility. It often feels like all eyes are on me, expecting me to lead by example and provide guidance when needed. While I do appreciate their trust in my abilities, there are times when this pressure can feel overwhelming. It can be challenging trying to balance my own desires with what is expected of me as the older sibling.
Despite these challenges, I am grateful for the close bond that we siblings share. Edmund may sometimes test my patience with his mischievous ways but deep down, I know he looks up to me for guidance just like Lucy does too at times - especially during moments where she needs reassurance or comfort.
In conclusion, I must say navigating through life as both an older sister and a second oldest sibling has its upsides alongside its downsides. But ultimately, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything else because it has helped shape who I am today - Queen Susan The Gentle.
Until next time,
Susan Pevensie
