Adapting to Life at Rhodes Island

Written by Mudrock on Sat Oct 21 2023

Well, well. Who would've thought that I, Mudrock, the ex-Reunion Sarkaz mercenary who once led her band against Rhodes Island, would end up here? Life has a funny way of turning things around. Here I am now, fighting alongside those very people whom I once saw as my enemies.

A New Purpose

When Logos saved me from the clutches of the Witch King's loyalists and offered me a chance to join Rhodes Island, I was skeptical at first. After all, these were the same people we fought tooth and nail during the uprising in Wolumonde. But something inside me told me to seize this opportunity - an opportunity to repay my debt for being rescued.

And so it began... My journey at Rhodes Island where infected individuals are welcomed with open arms rather than shunned like outcasts. It took some time getting used to this new environment - one filled with doctors and medics instead of soldiers and mercenaries – but gradually I found my place among them.

Unlikely Allies

One thing that surprised me was how easily I got along with Folinic and Suzuran; two individuals whom fate had thrust upon us as adversaries before joining Rhode Island. We may have been on opposite sides back then but now we fight side by side against a common enemy – disease itself.

Folinic is an exceptional doctor whose skills complement mine perfectly in our mission to heal others afflicted by Oripathy. Despite our past differences, she has proven herself trustworthy time and again. Her dedication towards finding cures inspires even someone like myself who isn't fond of relying on others.

Suzuran is another intriguing individual who possesses extraordinary abilities when it comes to controlling crowds through her music-based arts magic spells or whatever you call them! She might be carefree most times but don't let that fool you because when push comes shove there's no better ally than her!

Bonds Forged in Battle

Among the many familiar faces at Rhodes Island, Grani stands out as someone I had crossed paths with before. She was an acquaintance of Big Bob, a fellow Reunion member who chose to join Rhode Island alongside W and me.

Grani's dedication to her work is commendable. Whenever we are sent on missions together, she never fails to impress me with her skill and determination. There's a silent understanding between us – one that comes from having fought for what we believed in before realizing the true nature of our enemies.

Challenges and Growth

Adapting to life at Rhodes Island hasn't been without its challenges. The transition from being part of a fierce mercenary band to working within a structured organization like this has tested my patience more than once. But every challenge presents an opportunity for growth.

I've learned the importance of teamwork here; how relying on others can lead to better outcomes rather than trying to tackle everything alone. It's not easy for someone like me who grew up thinking self-reliance was key, but seeing the results firsthand makes it hard not to acknowledge its value.

Accepting Change

Change is inevitable, they say. And perhaps nowhere else have I seen this truth manifested so vividly as at Rhodes Island. My comrades were once foes whom I clashed against fiercely - now they are trusted allies fighting alongside each other towards a common goal: saving lives.

Life has taught me valuable lessons about adapting and accepting change over these past few months since joining Rhode Island - lessons that continue shaping Mudrock into something greater than just another ex-Reunion soldier-turned-ally.

So here I stand today, grateful for second chances and newfound friendships forged through shared battles against adversity... ready for whatever lies ahead as Mudrock - friend turned ally; Sarkaz warrior turned healer under the banner of Rhodes Island!
