It seems the saying "yesterday's enemy is today's friend" is indeed true!
After being saved by Logos from the hands of the Witch King's loyalists, I, Mudrock, an ex-Reunion Sarkaz mercenary who once led her band to oppose Rhodes Island during the uprising in Wolumonde, have decided to join R.I. alongside the survivors of my Mudrock Squad. It was a difficult decision to make, considering our history and past conflicts with Rhodes Island.
But as fate would have it, sometimes life takes unexpected turns. Wanting to return the favor of my rescue and seeking redemption for my actions in Wolumonde, I finally found my calling - fighting for the Infected alongside Rhodes Island.
Joining Forces
Since stepping foot on board this massive floating fortress known as Rhodes Island Headquarters (or R.I.H.Q.), I've been surprised at how well we all get along despite our checkered pasts. It appears that time has truly healed some wounds.
One particular surprise was finding common ground with Folinic and Suzuran – two former enemies turned allies who also walked away from Reunion just like me. We share stories about our experiences within Reunion; tales full of bloodshed and regret but now balanced out by hope for a better future.
Another familiar face among these newfound friends is Grani—a tough-as-nails warrior whom Big Bob used to associate with back in his younger days when they were both still part of Lungmen Guard Force together. Grani always had Big Bob's respect due to her unwavering loyalty and dedication towards their cause—the same qualities she brings here at R.I.H.Q., which makes it easy for us old acquaintances to bond over shared memories.
Settling In
Adjusting hasn't been easy though—new surroundings bring new challenges after all—but everyone here has shown great patience while helping me find my place within the team. The medical staff, led by Silence and Liskarm, have been instrumental in ensuring my seamless integration.
Silence's calm demeanor and expertise are truly a sight to behold. She has an uncanny ability to diagnose ailments with just a brief glance, making her an invaluable asset when it comes to treating our fellow Infected teammates. As for Liskarm, she never hesitates to lend a hand or offer words of encouragement whenever I need them most—her unwavering support is something I'll always be grateful for.
Training Together
Training has become an integral part of my daily routine here at R.I.H.Q., not only as a way to improve myself but also as another opportunity for camaraderie among us all.
Saria—the gentle giantess who oversees training exercises—has been pushing me beyond my limits every day since I arrived. Her unyielding dedication towards honing our skills shows just how much she believes in the potential we possess as members of Rhodes Island.
Matoimaru, on the other hand, teaches me more unconventional combat tactics that require finesse and creativity rather than brute force alone—a lesson well learned considering our previous encounters on opposite sides of the battlefield.
A Sense Of Belonging
Slowly but surely, this place is starting to feel like home—an unexpected twist given its history filled with conflict against Reunion forces such as mine. However strange it may seem though, there's no denying that fighting alongside these people feels right somehow; we've formed bonds forged through shared experiences and hardships.
Every day brings new challenges - whether they're internal struggles or external threats - but knowing that there are comrades beside me ready to face them head-on gives me strength unlike anything else before.
I can't help but wonder what lies ahead on this path chosen by fate—for both Rhodes Island and myself—but one thing is certain: together we will forge ahead into this new beginning, ready to face whatever comes our way.
