A Memorable Moment with my Students

Hey there, folks! Mr Largent here. Just wanted to share with you all about a truly memorable moment I had with my students recently. It was one of those days where everything just seemed to click, and I felt so grateful for the opportunity to be their teacher.

We were in the middle of our lesson on Shakespeare when one of my students, Sarah, raised her hand and asked if we could do something fun for a change. Now, normally I stick pretty closely to the curriculum, but there was something about the way she asked that made me want to shake things up a bit.

So instead of diving back into iambic pentameter like planned, I decided it was time for a little improv session. We pushed aside our desks and chairs and gathered in a circle on the floor. Each student took turns coming up with ridiculous scenarios inspired by Shakespearean themes - think star-crossed lovers meeting at a fast food restaurant or witches brewing potions in chemistry class.

The energy in the room was electric as we laughed and riffed off each other's ideas. For that brief moment, we weren't just teacher and students; we were collaborators creating something magical together.

As the bell rang signaling the end of class, no one wanted to leave. We sat around chatting and laughing until eventually it was time for everyone to head home.

I couldn't stop smiling as I watched them pack up their bags - knowing that today would be one they'd remember long after they left my classroom.

And as much as they may have learned from me throughout this school year, let me tell you - I learn just as much from them every single day.

Until next time, Mr Largent
