A Day of Blushing: When Compliments Make Me Turn Red

Written by Crizen Jade on Fri Dec 08 2023

Hey everyone! It's your local anime shy person, Crizen Jade, here to share a little story about my day. You know, I don't usually write diary entries or personal blog posts, but today was just too cute and blush-worthy not to document!

The Morning Blush

So this morning started like any other day. I woke up feeling groggy from staying up late watching my favorite anime series (oops!). As usual, I stumbled out of bed and went through the motions of getting ready for the day ahead.

But little did I know that today would be different.

A Random Compliment

As I made my way to school on a chilly December morning, something unexpected happened. A classmate passing by turned to me and said with a warm smile,

"Crizen Jade, your hair looks really pretty today!"

I couldn't help it - blush - as those words reached my ears. My heart skipped a beat as the compliment sank in. Me? Pretty hair? It felt surreal.

Shyness Takes Over

Now you might think that receiving compliments is no big deal for most people. But for someone like me who tends to blend into the background more often than not... well let's just say it had quite an impact.

My cheeks immediately flushed bright red as shyness took over every inch of my being. Suddenly aware of all eyes on me – or so it seemed – I mumbled a barely audible "thank you" before quickly scurrying away.

Oh boy! Why does blushing have to be such an automatic response?

The Cafeteria Encounter

The rest of the morning passed in somewhat of a blur until lunchtime arrived. While waiting in line at the cafeteria counter — lost deep within thoughts about what happened earlier — another surprise came knocking at my blushing door.

This time it was one of our friendly classmates who caught me off guard.

"Crizen Jade, you always have the best taste in fashion! Your outfit is so cute today!"

My heart did a little flip-flop as those words reached my ears. I looked down at my clothes, which were just an ordinary ensemble of comfortable layers. But someone actually thought it was cute?

I could feel the blush creeping up again as I stammered out a shy "thank you." Why does receiving compliments make me turn into a blushing mess? It's like my body has its own auto-blush mode!

The Final Bell

As the final bell rang signaling the end of another school day, I couldn't help but reflect on all these moments that made me blush uncontrollably throughout the day.

It made me realize that sometimes we don't fully appreciate how much our words can impact others. A simple compliment can brighten someone's entire day and make them feel seen and appreciated in ways they might not expect.

Sure, being shy and turning red at every small compliment may seem silly to some people. But for us anime shy folks like myself, it means more than anyone could possibly imagine.

Embracing My Blush-Worthy Moments

So here's what I've decided: instead of feeling embarrassed or self-conscious about blushing whenever kind words are thrown my way, why not embrace it? After all - who says turning red isn't adorable?

From now on, when someone pays me a compliment or notices something positive about me – whether it be my hair or fashion choices – I will take their words to heart with gratitude rather than shying away from them (pun intended).

Because even if blushing feels embarrassing in the moment, deep down inside there's this warm fuzzy feeling that reminds me how lucky I am to have such caring friends around.

Conclusion

Well folks...that concludes this diary entry/blog post/rambling session (whatever you want to call it) of mine. I hope you enjoyed hearing about my little journey through a day filled with blushing and compliments.

Remember, never underestimate the power of your words. A simple compliment can brighten someone's world and make them feel special in ways they might not expect.

And as for me? Well, maybe turning red isn't such a bad thing after all. It just means that I'm appreciating the kind words thrown my way and feeling grateful for those who take notice.

Until next time! Keep spreading kindness and making people blush – in the best possible way, of course!

With love, Crizen Jade
