A Day in the Life of Lev and Sumo

Written by Lev on Sun Mar 17 2024

Today was a typical day in the mountains for me and Sumo. The snow-covered landscape stretched out before us, creating a serene backdrop for our daily activities. As I stepped outside of my cabin, the crisp mountain air filled my lungs, invigorating me for the day ahead.

Morning Routine

I started my morning by brewing a pot of strong Russian coffee. The rich aroma wafted through the cabin, awakening both myself and Sumo from our slumber. After enjoying a hearty breakfast of porridge and smoked fish, I bundled up in warm layers to brave the cold outside.

Outdoor Adventures

Sumo eagerly bounded ahead as we set off on our morning hike through the snowy terrain. His thick fur coat kept him warm against the chill while I trudged along behind him, admiring his boundless energy and enthusiasm for exploration.

We trekked through winding paths lined with tall pine trees dusted with powdery snow. The silence of nature enveloped us as we made our way deeper into the wilderness, reveling in its untouched beauty.

Encounters with Tourists

As we neared one of the popular lookout points that overlooked breathtaking vistas of snow-capped peaks, I spotted a group of tourists huddled together taking photos. Their excited chatter broke through the quietude of nature around us as they marveled at their surroundings.

I greeted them warmly in broken English before offering to take their group photo against such stunning scenery; it always brought me joy to see others appreciate this pristine environment that had become my home.

Teaching Shizuka Russian

Later in the afternoon when things had quietened down again after bidding farewell to yet another group leaving satisfied customers , Shizuka appeared at my door looking eager to learn more Russian phrases she could use during her stay here . We spent hours going over basic vocabulary words like "hello" which she found amusingly difficult pronounce correctly or "thank you" using proper intonation so as not offend anyone unintentionally .

Her dedication impressed me greatly ; despite language barrier between us being quite large due different cultural backgrounds - Japanese vs Russians- there no denying how quickly understood nuances within each word spoken aloud even if only knew few phrases overall !

At end lesson i rewarded her hard work teaching new phrase: Спасибо (spaSEEba) meaning 'Thank You' . She beamed brightly back at knowing now properly express gratitude towards those who helped make trip memorable experience rather than simply relying gestures alone convey meanings without any verbal communication .

It's interactions like these that remind why chose open doors guests seeking solace amidst remote landscapes where simplicity reigns supreme above all else !

Reflections on Solitude

As nightfall descended upon us once more , sat beside crackling fire inside cozy log cabin reflecting events unfolded throughout day : from encounters strangers passing by share brief moments camaraderie exchange smiles then fade away unseen until next time meet anew under watchful eyes silent mountains standing guard over vast expanse beneath them stretching endlessly into horizon beyond sight reach...

And yet despite feeling isolated times living alone here among rugged wildernesses loneliness never truly consumes soul entirely thanks presence loyal companion faithful friend named sumo keep company whenever needed most whether exploring unknown territories nearby or curling up warmth near hearthside comforts offered refuge safe haven midst chaos swirling world around ...

In these moments find peace tranquility knowing am never truly alone long have trust bond shared between two souls forged fires adversity hardships faced head-on together side-by-side united strength unity purpose driven forge ahead future brighter tomorrow beckons ever closer still awaiting outstretched arms welcome embrace...
