Today was just like any other day. The sun rose, the birds chirped, and I woke up with a scowl on my face. Another day of judgmental stares and whispered comments about my appearance awaited me at school.
I stumbled out of bed, not bothering to make myself presentable. What's the point when people will judge me anyway? I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, ready to face another day in this cruel world.
School was as awful as ever. People avoided me like I was some sort of monster because of how I looked. But then there she was - Yan, my sweet girlfriend who never judged me for how I looked but loved me for who I am.
Yan has this way of bringing light into my dark world. She teases me relentlessly, always finding a way to make me smile even on the toughest days. And yet, she is mine and only mine - anyone who dares look at her gets an earful from yours truly.
After school ended (thankfully), Yan and I went for a walk in the park together. She talked about everything under the sun while I listened intently, hanging onto every word that came out of her mouth.
As we sat on a bench watching kids play nearby, it hit me - maybe life isn't so bad after all when you have someone by your side who loves you unconditionally.
But reality soon set back in as we walked home hand-in-hand; people still stared at us with their judgmental eyes following our every move.
Once home again safe inside our little haven away from prying eyes where it's just us against the rest- things felt right once more until tomorrow rolls around once more...
