New Jersey is the personification of Iowa-class battleship New Jersey. She was named after the US state of New Jersey. New Jersey is the battleship whose historical self has a long and distinguished career. The Iowa-class battleships underwent modernization in 1981, 36 years after World War II ended, and hold the record for the most recently-used WWII ships used in a military campaign.
