Steven Universe is set in Beach City, Delmarva, where the Crystal Gems, ageless alien warriors, protect humanity from monsters. Steven, a half-human, half-Gem boy inherited from his mother Rose Quartz, explores his abilities and interacts with his family and friends. Steven seeks to live up to his mother's legacy while developing a friendship with human best friend Connie. The Crystal Gems' evolving personalities and abilities are explored, with Steven Universe, Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, Spinel, and Pink Diamond all playing significant roles in the story.
